Single knitting machines usually use latch needles, and the loop forming process can be divided into eight stages:
Holding loop: The loop after being pulled into a loop is hung on the needle hook.
Unlooping: The latch needle is pushed forward by the needle starting triangle and the main triangle, and the fabric moves forward, but is blocked by the fabric pressure plate. The loop pushes the needle latch to open, and then slides onto the needle bar.
Yarn padding (thread feeding): The yarn is fed into the needle hook through the thread feeding nozzle.
Closed mouth: The latch needle is driven back by the main triangle on the other side, and the old coil pushes the needle latch to close.
Loop: The latch needle continues to retreat, the latch is completely closed under the push of the old coil, and the yarn is enclosed in the needle hook.
Unlooping and looping: the latch needle retreats to the initial position, and the old coil slips across the needle latch under the action of the settling column to form a new coil. The pulling device pulls the coil toward the back of the needle under the action of a weight or presser foot to prevent it from being re-set during unwinding.
